Verification FAQ

Plain-language answers about credential verification, standing states, and common edge cases.

Common questions

Why does an old code redirect to a new code?

Reissued credentials preserve an old-to-new alias chain so previously shared links do not silently break.

What does revoked mean?

Revoked means the credential should no longer be treated as valid. Public pages show revocation state so stale copies are not trusted.

What is Good Standing?

Good Standing is a time-bounded status window tied to affirmation and continuing-education checks; ordination can remain permanent while standing is renewable.

Does verification replace legal guidance?

No. Verification confirms church-issued records. Jurisdiction-specific legal requirements still need confirmation from local clerk/court sources.

Can I verify by QR code?

Yes. Certificates and IDs support QR links to public verification records. Minister records also expose QR verification links when available.
